Why I Wrote A Potty Training Book!
Four short weeks ago I decided to add to my already busy life by writing a potty training book! I felt compelled to do this after seeing a number of adverts flashing up on my computer screen telling me that I could potty train my child in just three days!
Well maybe this would be true if we were all clones of the perfect person, but we are not. It is bold statements such as these that are making us parents feel pressured into doing everything perfectly.
Let me tell you, there is no such thing as the perfect parent and there is no such thing as the perfect child. We are all beautifully different and that is what makes the world such an interesting place.
Children learn to walk at different rates. Children learn to read at different rates. Children learn to ride a bike at different rates. And yes, you guessed it, children learn to potty train at different rates.
Just because little Harry next door is running around in his big boy pants at 23 months old, that doesn’t mean that your little one should be doing the same. Rule number one when being a mum or dad is don’t compare your child to others.
So, in the midst of potty training my fourth son I took it upon myself to share my words of wisdom with others and hopefully ease the pressure that parents often feel when it comes to potty training.
I have potty trained four boys all of whom are very different to each other. There is however fundamental criteria that I have used for each of them that I have shared in my book.
Potty training can be daunting but when you relax and realise it doesn’t have to be done perfectly you will find the stress of it all just lifts away.
If you would like to read my book, you can find it right here………..
