Pass Around The World – 2015 Rugby World Cup
Did you know that the 2015 Rugby World Cup is upon us?!?! If you are anything like me then you probably didn’t have a clue!
Being a mum of boys though, I have come to accept that sports are going to be a big part of my life from now on. We are a footballing family through and through. My husband loves the fact that my seven year old is fast becoming a proper little footballing buddy for him. Much to my husbands delight, he now also loves to watch the matches on TV with him. Rather than slacking off to watch the match he now tells me it is good father-son bonding time!
And apparently this love of football is now being extended to rugby as the 2015 Rugby World Cup is imminent! Any excuse to sit in front of the TV with a beer hey! I have to admit though, I do love the feel in the country when there is a world cup going on. Everyone cheering for their team makes for a great sense of camaraderie and high spirits.
My seven year old loves nothing more than a good kick around in the garden. This isn’t so great when his two year old brother is out mowing the lawn with his pretend lawn mower, ducking as a fall comes flying within inches of his head but I love the fact that he is so keen to be outdoors whenever he can. Hence, he was the first to put his hand up when I told him and his brothers about ‘Pass Around The World’!
‘Pass Around The World’ is a bit of fun brought to us by Allianz and Saracens RFC. The idea is to bring people together from all walks of life through rugby. My boys had never shown much interest in rugby before. After doing the ‘pass around the world’ with me though, they have now asked for a rugby ball to add to their collection hidden in the bushes around my garden so it has definitely grabbed their attention!
I thought it might be fun for you, my readers, to do too. Take a look at the Pass Around The World video here to see what it is all about. All you have to do is film yourself catching and throwing a rugby ball and upload it to the website. Your pass will then be amongst passes from Owen Farrell and his teammates, Lewis Hamilton, the Bayern Munich FC team, Paul McGinley and hundreds of people from across the world.
By uploading your video you also stand a chance of winning some great prizes from a £150 Ticketmaster voucher to exclusive Saracens prizes, such as tickets to see them play, signed rugby balls and the top prize; lunch with the team after attending a training session! I know which prize I have my eye on 😉 !
If you do want to get involved don’t forget to make sure you turn your phone sideways to film it. (otherwise you will have to do a re-take like me!) Make sure the ball comes from your right and out through your left. You can freestyle however you like in the middle but keep it to less than ten seconds and under 30MB’s!
If you don’t want to make your own video you may like to take a look at the website with your family anyway so they can see if they can spot any famous faces they might recognise! You can see my effort here!
