  1. We have been making a conscious effort, whil I have on maternity leave with Kiddiewink 3, to have more family meals together at the table and we are managing as a rule 3-4 times a week. Hubby’s shifts and my pre school committee meetings or kids activities sometimes get in the way. When at work, none of us are home until six with the kids having eaten elsewhere so hoping on the rare nights we in together 3-4 a week we will continue eating together. Sometimes there are battles over my chosen dinner other times daddy gets annoyed with all the talking but I love the chat and I agree it’s well worth it!

  2. We eat around the table every night – most nights it’s most of us, though some times evening activities interrupt, or it ends up staggered. Friday is our worst night, with three different swim club sessions, and I just can’t fit in a time for us all to settle down.

It’s a great way to get everyone to spend a bit of time catching up with everyone else, and we go around the table and ask about everyone’s day, which means that there’s always some good conversation too. It’s time I cherish to be honest.

I couldn’t agree more with you. The only problem is everyone wanting to talk at once – I love the fact they all get so chatty though! x
